The Artist behind Aireyarts
A little about myself
My name is Stephen Airey and Im the artist behind Aireyarts.
I have a beautiful wife, 2 great kids and 2 very cute dogs and live on the Central Coast of NSW Australia. An Artist and a Firefighter. I’ve always tinkered with art, sketching when younger. However it wasn’t till later in my life, that I have had sufficient time to embrace my art. I am self taught and started with acrylic abstract art after going with my daughter to an art lesson. This ignited my passion for art and it wasn’t long before I moved to Resin Art. In resin art I focused on the sea as my theme. I live on the Central Coast and spend a lot of time at the beach, this is where the inspiration for my resin art comes from.
More recently I widened my mediums to watercolours and Pastels, my current passion is creating animal portraits. We all love our pets and I get great joy capturing pets special moments in time for everyone to remember and enjoy.
My theme of endangered animals is born out of my work as a firefighter, in particular my involvement with the devastating bushfires and the impact on our wildlife. This expands through to other animals across the globe facing challenges in their environments.
AireyArts was created at the end of 2019. My home studio is where I create all my pieces and I am trying new things all the time so check my website frequently. Subscribe to my social media to make sure you don’t miss anything.
